GROUP STILL COMMITTED TO NUCLEAR DUMP SITE.(Local)

The benefits offered to Cattaraugus County for accepting a new radioactive waste dump at West Valley won't be revoked because the County Legislature rejected the plan, an official said Thursday.

Howard Shapiro, director of the Energy Association of New York State, said the nuclear waste generators his group represents intend to honor their offer despite Wednesday's vote against them.
